In a recent and groundbreaking initiative, LG Electronics Indonesia has penned a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. The purpose of this landmark collaboration is to bolster literacy rates among Indonesian children via LG’s altruistic initiative – ‘LG Loves Children’, according to The Jakarta Post.
As per the agreement outlined in the MoU, LG is committed to providing children’s reading book packages to 330 of its Children’s Education Programs (PAUD) across the country. This quantity, interestingly, corresponds with LG’s 33-year tenure in Indonesia, symbolizing its enduring commitment to the nation.
Two specific books, “Lilo and Gina’s Tomato Plants” and “Let’s Get to Know Shapes”, have been curated in collaboration with the education ministry. They have been carefully crafted, taking into account the specific needs of early childhood education. Each PAUD will be the recipient of four packages, each containing these three meticulously selected books.
The main objective of this initiative is not only to strengthen the literacy skills of the children but also to imbibe in them essential life values, said Lee Taejin, the President of LG Electronics Indonesia. He emphasized his hope that this bolstered support for early childhood education would serve as a catalyst for improving the standard of living in Indonesia, contributing significantly to the country’s growth.
In addition to this, the MoU also promises benefits for elementary school teachers. LG, in association with the education ministry, will distribute reference materials to enhance their curriculum and teaching methods.
The ‘LG Loves Children’ programme is a vital fragment of LG’s broader social care campaign, ‘LG Loves Indonesia’, which encompasses other notable initiatives such as ‘LG Loves School’ and ‘LG Love and Care’.
