Be totally honest with yourself about your objectives
The first step is to recognize that working in an office and working from home are two entirely different things. Apart from the daily workload, you might have many responsibilities at home. Thus, your work goals for the day should be realistic, definite, and simple to achieve. This method is preferable to setting unattainable goals and you won’t be disappointed when they are not completely met.
Work in short episodes
When working from home, you will face both internal and external distractions. Usually, external distractions can be avoided, but some internal distractions must be addressed seriously. It could be anything from washing clothes, to preparing lunch, and to feeding your pet. This shifting dynamic often results in a loss of focus without you consciously knowing it. To keep your concentration levels high, try doing 30 minutes of focused work followed by a short break.
Consciously control the distractions
As previously stated, distractions manifest themselves in a variety of ways. You must actively manage these distractions during your work breaks to maintain your concentration levels and increase your overall productivity.
Be socially distanced but connect
Commonly, working in an office requires you to be sociable. You end up meeting new people every day and developing working relationships with them. But you must understand that work from home communication process requires extra effort. By clearly communicating with your coworkers, you can improve your working relationships while also staying up to date on your project and the organization.
Behave as if you were in the workplace
The office ambience provides you with a place to block out other thoughts and concentrate on your work. You set a strict schedule and stick to it. But, working from home does not provide you with this environment.
It is recommended that you try to mimic your environment to increase your productivity. Create personal events and reminders in your online calendar to tell you when to shift gears and start on new tasks.
Work at your most productive level
Since you are at home, choose your most productive time and use it to complete tasks that require your full attention. During periods of low productivity, focus on completing the easier tasks on your to-do list.
