Snapchat is gearing up to launch several new features, including the ability to edit messages after they’ve been sent. This feature enables users to fix typos or other errors, but it’s only available if the message hasn’t been opened yet and within five minutes of sending. Initially, this editing feature will be exclusive to Snapchat Plus subscribers.
In recent times, other popular messaging platforms such as Meta’s Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Apple’s iOS 16 have introduced similar features. Google is also expected to introduce message editing soon.
Additionally, Snapchat is rolling out emoji reactions, map reactions, and a new AI-powered reminders tool that helps users track important deadlines by setting a countdown.
For Bitmoji enthusiasts, Snapchat will introduce a feature to create custom outfits using AI. There’s also an AI Lens that transforms selfies into a Polaroid-style ’90s look. For those less interested in Bitmojis, standard emoji reactions are also an option.
Another new feature allows users to react to friends’ shared locations on the map, provided they are not driving. While some features are available now, the message editing for Plus subscribers will be rolled out shortly.
