Snapchat+, a subscription plan offered by the app, is introducing an experimental chatbot named My AI. The chatbot will be powered by OpenAI’s latest version of GPT technology which has been customised for Snapchat.
Features of My AI Chatbot
Snap has announced that My AI will be capable of a variety of tasks, including suggesting gift ideas, planning trips, suggesting recipes, and even writing poems. Additionally, users can customize the chatbot’s name and chat wallpaper to their preference.
However, Snap warns that My AI is still in its initial stages and can be “prone to hallucination” like other AI-powered chatbots. The company advises users to refrain from sharing private information with the chatbot.
Recording Conversations for Improved Product Experience
All conversations with My AI will be recorded and reviewed to improve the product experience. Snap believes that this will allow them to develop better AI language models, which could enhance the user’s experience with the chatbot.
Meta AI Launches Large Language Model LLaMA
Meta has launched a foundational research tool called LLaMA, which is a large language model that has a foundation of 65 billion parameters. This tool will enable researchers to advance their work in the field of AI language models, even without access to large amounts of infrastructure.
Democratising Access to AI Language Models
Meta has expressed that smaller, more performant models such as LLaMA will democratize access to the AI language models research community, allowing them to study these models without relying on large infrastructure. The tool will advance the subfield of AI, enabling researchers to solve issues surrounding AI language models.
