Ecommerce giant, Shopify, has named Sling & Stone as its new agency of record in Southeast Asia, marking a new chapter in the firm’s strategic growth. According to an official announcement by the agency, Sling & Stone has been tasked with bolstering Shopify’s visibility and advocating for its position as a go-to platform for retail commerce in the region.
“Working with Shopify, a brand we’ve held in high esteem from afar, is an opportunity we’re seizing with immense pride. The likelihood is high that many of your preferred brands are underpinned by Shopify’s platform,” remarked Rajiv Menon, Sling & Stone’s Singapore head.
Menon further emphasized the agency’s commitment to narrating the journey of forward-thinking brands. “Shopify’s staggering impact on both large and small businesses, as well as on the consumer shopping experience, is truly profound. We’re eager to kickstart this journey, just as Shopify is,” he added.
For nearly 20 years, Shopify has been committed to resolving intricate commerce hurdles for merchants and consumers alike. Globally, it propels millions of businesses, encompassing everything from small outfits to large SMEs and corporations. For a decade now, the firm has had a robust presence in Southeast Asia, offering local expertise and tailoring its products to the region’s unique business needs.
In another development, customer and sales engagement firm WATI recently announced Shopify’s financial backing, the first of such venture investment for the e-commerce titan in a Southeast Asian startup. WATI, an acronym for ‘WhatsApp Team Inbox,’ revealed a $23 million series B funding round aimed at expanding its team and product reach worldwide. The funding round was championed by Tiger Global, with contributions from existing investors Sequoia Capital India and Southeast Asia, along with new investors DST Global Partners and, of course, Shopify.
