Transforming Malaysia’s Talent Landscape with Advanced AI Technology
Jobstreet by SEEK, a prominent figure in Malaysia’s career and talent sector, has made a groundbreaking announcement about the overhaul of its employment platform. This transformation, driven by advanced AI technology from its parent company SEEK, marks a new era in how jobseekers and employers in Malaysia connect. The platform is now equipped to provide superior job matches, enhanced user experiences, and deeper insights, benefiting both Malaysian job seekers and employers.
Massive Investment Fuels Regional Integration
The genesis of Jobstreet’s platform transformation is rooted in SEEK’s substantial investment of approximately RM545 million (AUD$180 million) over the past three years. This investment aimed to integrate its three major online employment marketplaces in the Asia-Pacific region: SEEK in Australia and New Zealand, Jobstreet in Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Singapore, and JobsDB in Hong Kong and Thailand.
This strategic move is set to accelerate growth and unlock greater opportunities across the APAC region. By early 2024, when the program reaches its completion, Malaysian jobseekers and employers will gain access to a more expansive job market and a larger talent pool across the entire APAC region catered by SEEK.
A Leap Forward for Malaysian Online Employment
Vic Sithasanan, Managing Director of Jobstreet by SEEK (Malaysia), expressed his enthusiasm about this significant change. “This is an incredible transformation for Jobstreet in Malaysia as the leading online employment marketplace. With our large and diverse talent pool, the ultimate goal with this transformation is to help ease the job and talent search process. We look forward to helping jobseekers match up with employers based on specific skills, job roles, and career goals with ease, and the use of SEEK’s innovative and world-class AI technology for intuitive matching will help to achieve this,” Sithasanan stated.
New Features and Capabilities for Better Job and Talent Recommendations
The revamped platform utilizes AI models for a more efficient talent assessment, application shortlisting, and personalized recommendations. This involves analyzing data from various sources, including resumes, job ad descriptions, and employer’s past behaviors. A notable addition is the ‘Top Applicant Badge,’ enhancing the probability of talents applying for roles that align with their experience and skills. This feature not only benefits jobseekers but also aids employers in receiving a more qualified and relevant list of applications.
Employers can now incorporate AI-recommended screening questions in their job posts, further streamlining the talent acquisition process. The AI-powered platform also introduces a predictive approachability signal, a cutting-edge feature designed to facilitate more effective matching of talent with potential employers.

Continuous investment in AI technology
With over 25 years of APAC-wide data and insights drawn from two decades of local operations, Jobstreet, through SEEK’s extensive data and AI team, is set to connect talents with the right opportunities more effectively than ever. Grant Wright, General Manager of Marketplace and AI Products at SEEK, emphasized their commitment.“At SEEK, we are committed to leveraging data and technology to provide the most effective, efficient and fair recruitment solutions for talent and employers.
