Realme is gearing up to introduce the innovative P Series in India, shortly after unveiling the Realme 12x. The forthcoming P Series, symbolizing “Power,” aims to redefine smartphone technology. Chase XU, Realme’s Vice President, disclosed this through a post and a teaser video, setting the launch event for April 15 at 12 PM.
The series will kick off with two smartphones: the Realme P1 and Realme P1 Pro. Realme P1 5G is to be powered by the chipset of MediaTek Dimensity 7050, while mention is made that the Pro version hosts Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. The display is expected to be an excellent AMOLED, most likely 120Hz of refresh rate for quality smoothness and vibrancy.
While Realme’s P Series shall be exclusively available at Flipkart, it would target the mid-range segment and support 5G connectivity. The focus on “power” rightly implies that the phones will be reasonably capable.
Realme is also shifting to its design approach in this P-series. Along with this, Realme’s P-series would mark a takeover by the two GT and GT Neo series, which are now no longer on the website of Realme.
In the competitive market, the P Series aims to stand out against mid-range phones like the Nothing Phone (2a), Vivo T-Series, and iQOO Z Series. Prices are expected to be set between Rs 15,000 and Rs 25,000, with the base model P1 starting below Rs 15,000.
In a special collaboration, Realme has teamed up with Indian visual artist P.S Rathor to create designs inspired by Indian culture, underscoring the series’ exclusivity to the Indian market. Realme hopes this series will help it achieve a significant sales milestone of 50 million units on Flipkart.
For manufacturing and distribution, Realme continues to use the Noida Oppo facility and works with partners like Khy Electronics, Bhagwati Electronics, Skyworth, and Videotex International. Since April 2023, Realme has also been handling its distribution independently.
