Pakatan Harapan (PH), the Malaysian political alliance, is optimistic about its chances in retaining Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, and Penang in the impending state elections. This optimism, according to PKR Deputy President Rafizi Ramli, is bolstered by the alliance’s partnership with Barisan Nasional (BN).
Ramli cited regular research conducted in these PH-governed states, highlighting a consistent trend of high voter satisfaction with the current state administrations. Out of all, Negeri Sembilan, under the stewardship of Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, garnered the highest voter approval rating of 75 percent.
Research spanning from January to May repeatedly asked voters if they supported and were satisfied with their state government. Remarkably, 75 percent of Negeri Sembilan voters expressed satisfaction with their current administration, the highest approval rating among the six states under study.
While Ramli did not provide specific data for the other states, he conveyed confidence in the robust support shown by voters, particularly those above 30 years old.
In addition, Aminuddin echoed this positivity during his speech, asserting that in line with the federal level unity government’s formation, the PH-BN collaboration had become stronger and could continue leading the state. Aminuddin further stated that PH and BN would jointly campaign in all seats contested by the two coalitions, ensuring unity government party candidates’ victory in the state elections.
The upcoming state elections will also include the PAS-ruled states of Kedah, Terengganu, and Kelantan.
