In a noteworthy stride toward fortifying digital transformation, PETRONAS Digital, a subsidiary of the Malaysian petroleum conglomerate PETRONAS, has announced a strategic partnership with tech giant Microsoft and digital solutions provider Cegal.

- New Partnership Formed: An official Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was penned down by Phuah Aik Chong, the Digital CEO of PETRONAS, K Raman from Microsoft Malaysia, and Dagfinn Ringas, the CEO of Cegal. PETRONAS’ VP, Aadrin Azly, witnessed this significant occasion.
- Digital Goals: Microsoft Azure’s AI infrastructure and computing platform will be leveraged to bolster a broad spectrum of applications aiming to enhance PETRONAS’ operational efficacy. Moreover, with Amazon Web Services (AWS) also setting its eyes on Malaysia, the nation is poised to witness a significant tech infrastructural expansion.
Aadrin Azly expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration’s potential, envisioning an optimization of energy delivery and innovative advancements for the broader energy sector. On a similar note, K Raman emphasized Microsoft’s dedication in propelling PETRONAS’ innovation, foreseeing the collaboration as a gateway for technological growth within the energy sector.
