He leads an Ogilvy Group powered by close to 300 experts in Brand Communication and Activation, Digital Experience, Public Relations, Health, and Content Studio who work fluidly together to unleash impactful creativity that grows its clients’ brands and businesses.
Having helmed leadership positions in the Philippines, Mexico, Japan, and Indonesia, Sieg brings invaluable global, regional, and local insights and wealth of experience in unearthing creative solutions through data and technology-fueled with powerful cultural truths.
Kent Wertime, CO-CEO of Ogilvy Asia said: “I couldn’t be happier that Sieg is taking on the leadership role in Indonesia. During his tenure with the Ogilvy Group in Indonesia – first as head of Bates and more recently with the additional responsibilities across the whole group as Group COO – Sieg has proven to be a trusted and worthy leader, and a natural successor as head of the Group. Sieg is supported by a very capable executive leadership team, who are aligned to Ogilvy’s mission to help our clients in Indonesia.”

Sieg said: “Beyond the amazing talent and expertise across the Ogilvy family, it is the resilience of our people through the challenges of the pandemic that has inspired all of us. We did not allow anything to get in the way of delivering impactful creative work. This strength in numbers gives us the confidence to deliver against the mandate of uncovering growth opportunities for our clients.” Penaverde continued to say: “We also embrace a shared goal doing our part to ensure that we come out of this pandemic with a better normal, not just a new one.”
“I am glad to see Ram take on a bigger role for the Asia region. He has been an amazing leader for us in Indonesia,” Sieg said about Ram. After six years in Indonesia, Ram will leave Jakarta at the start of July to relocate to Malaysia.
Kent Wertime, Co-CEO of Ogilvy Asia, said: “Ram has been a terrific leader for the Ogilvy Group in Indonesia. He is a true Ogilvy person, having worked in the agency for the past 22 years, first in India and then in Indonesia. Ram has a huge heart for our clients, for our agency staff, and for the work we do to help grow our clients’ business and make an impact in the world.”
Ram said: “I have never been more proud of this team who have weathered through every curve and bump of the Covid-19 pandemic, pulling hard alongside one another, and banding together as one phenomenal team. While the industry at large suffered from exodus and retrenchment, we thrived not just survived with Team Ogilvy coming together to not just transform in keeping with the business needs but to be ahead of the curve. In doing so, delivering what they have done best – partnered with clients and created impact for their business. Along the way we have had key business wins from our existing partners like Nestle, Konimex and added new partners in Pizza Hut, Kimberly Clark and won sustained recognition at Campaign Asia AOTY and best-in-class wins at Smarties.”
Ram added: “I believe our people and our clients in Indonesia will continue to thrive under Sieg’s leadership. I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in my new regional role.”
