Fresh from securing a substantial $2 million in pre-series A funding, Mash, the avant-garde creative juggernaut aiding pioneering brands to flourish in Asia-Pacific (APAC) markets, introduces its formidable new leadership triad. Damien Miller steps up as the Client Partnerships & Culture Director (APAC), complemented by Rich Akers in his new role as Creative Partnerships Director, Asia, and Amy Williams undertaking the Creative Partnerships Director role for ANZ.
This announcement signifies the first significant restructuring since Mash’s inception half a decade ago. The remote work model of the firm has facilitated the dispersal of leadership across six metropolises in Australia and Asia. This decentralised blueprint ensures the infusion of a myriad of insights and experiences, promoting closer engagements and cultural comprehension with local markets.
Damien Miller, now at the helm of Client Partnerships & Culture, hails from Vice Media and joined Mash in 2021. His objective is unambiguous: to bolster Mash’s intrinsic remote-working culture, heighten the client partnerships team, and accelerate the company’s expansion into fresh territories. Miller will lead an impressive commune of over 200 creative mavens, affectionately termed “Mashers.”
Speaking of his promotion, Miller shared, “The past two years at Mash have been transformative, with Tash and Sarah empowering our team to create groundbreaking, culturally intuitive campaigns for our clients, and help raise the quality of work for creatives around the world. I’m thrilled to collaborate with them and the entire Mash team as we enter our next phase of growth, driven by a shared purpose and a commitment to everyone’s success.”
Mash CEO & Co-Founder Tash Menon lauded the new leadership, saying, “We are incredibly fortunate to have a leadership team of this calibre as we propel our growth across Asia-Pacific, and embark on the journey of scaling through a new technology platform.”
Rich Akers and Amy Williams, both seasoned creative professionals with over 35 years of combined experience, started their journey with Mash as Mashers. The duo’s passion for the company lies in the autonomy of choosing their projects, a freedom inherently present in Mash’s model.

Amy Williams, who has been with Mash since 2018, steps up as ANZ Creative Partnerships Director, with a primary focus on project delivery and partnerships across Australia and New Zealand. Williams shared, “Over the past five years I’ve personally experienced and witnessed Mash empowering creatives to do their best work. As we evolve and scale, I am excited to step into this new role to continue connecting forward-thinking organisations with these brilliant creatives, and make relevant and impactful work together.”
Mash’s growth trajectory has been an impressive 90% year-on-year, with heavyweight clients such as Netflix, Indeed, and Accor. Currently active across 31 countries including Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and the US, the firm is ready to harness the momentum created by its new funding and leadership team, anticipating a significant boost in the APAC market presence.
