Minister Fahmi is focusing on the nation’s 5G abilities. He reported that the country’s 5G network now covers 64.7% of populated areas. 5289 5G towers have been built nationwide as of June this year.

David Hägerbro, head of Ericsson Malaysia, said that 5G will change how enterprises operate. He said, “Ericsson’s collaboration with Intel in Malaysia will drive Malaysia’s digital transformation.” It will also give Malaysia a distinct advantage for foreign investment.
In related 5G news, Maxis’ subsidiary, Maxis Broadband, will access 5G products and services from Digital Nasional (DNB). Maxis believes this is in their best interest. The government announced that the 5G network will reach 80% coverage in populated areas by the end of 2023.
