Karen Teo, a seasoned tech executive with a distinguished career, has recently been named the new Vice President of Android Partnerships for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region by technology giant Google.
On July 3rd, Teo announced her new appointment on LinkedIn, sharing her excitement and gratitude. “I am delighted to begin my role as VP, Android Partnerships APAC at Google. It’s an honor to follow the path of those who’ve fostered Android into the world’s most used mobile operating system. I eagerly anticipate contributing to this incredible team,” she expressed.
In her inaugural day statement, she further added, “Today marks the start of my learning journey.”
Before joining Google, Teo held an impressive nine-year tenure at Meta, where she developed her business strategy, sales, and leadership prowess. From being the Head of Gaming Sales for the Greater China region, she quickly ascended to the role of Vice President of Global Business Group for the APAC region.
Even earlier in her career, Teo worked at Microsoft for over half a decade. She started as the Product Marketing Manager of Xbox for the Southeast Asian market and later transitioned to Senior Account Manager for Global Partner and Third-Party Publishing. Here, she unveiled new business opportunities with partners and procured gaming platform content, while leveraging consumer trends in the Asia Pacific to shape global policies.
Moreover, Teo’s experience extends to entrepreneurship. She co-founded Quirkx Communications and served as the Account Director for more than five years, expanding its services to cater to diverse marketing needs, managing film collaborations for marketing and promotions with studios and distributors.
