Intel has announced a strategic collaboration with SAP SE to enhance and extend SAP® software landscapes in the cloud. The partnership emphasizes Intel’s commitment to deliver powerful and secure instances for SAP, powered by 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors. The intent is to offer customers increased scalability, agility, and consolidation of their existing SAP software landscapes.
The 4th Gen Xeon processors from Intel demonstrate significantly superior performance compared to earlier Xeon iterations based on SAP Application Performance Standard testing. These impressive results will be made available to SAP clients globally. Furthermore, Intel is increasing its support for virtual machine (VM) sizes up to 24 terabytes (TB), planning to escalate it to 32 TB with the RISE with SAP solution.

SAP customers using 4th Gen Xeon processors can reap the benefits of cloud’s scalability and flexibility, coupled with faster processing speeds and improved performance, enabling up to 38% CPU power savings. These combined technologies will facilitate quick and efficient deployment of the RISE with SAP solution, also ensuring the security and reliability necessary for operational management.
Christoph Schell, Chief Commercial Officer at Intel, highlighted that several of the world’s largest SAP S/4 HANA® systems run on Intel architecture. The new cloud computing experience fueled by 4th Gen Xeon aims to help SAP customers meet compliance and security needs, while also enabling the application of advanced technologies for more secure, integrated business processes.
Intel’s 4th Gen Xeon processors offer the highest number of built-in accelerators in the market, leading to enhanced performance and lower total cost of ownership (TCO).
