Clean energy solutions provider Gentari has sealed a deal with BMW Group Malaysia. They signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for green mobility services and renewable energy deployment.
Gentari Green Mobility, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gentari, facilitated this partnership. The two companies are now actively exploring collaborations in several areas. One focus is on electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. They are considering installations at various facilities and the BMW network of dealerships. The partnership also eyes various EV fleet solutions for the Malaysian market.

The collaboration doesn’t stop there. It will also explore value-adding services for BMW EV owners. These services include EV charging subscription plans, electric forecourts, portable charging, and mobile charging services. Joint renewable energy infrastructure deployment is also part of the plan.
The signing ceremony took place at the Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur. Shah Yang Razalli, deputy CEO of Gentari, and Hans de Visser, managing director of BMW Group Malaysia, attended.
Shah expressed excitement about the partnership. He believes Gentari’s capabilities in renewable energy can help establish a green electron value chain. “Together, we can pave the way for a greener and more sustainable future,” Shah added.
Hans de Visser of BMW Group Malaysia shared this sentiment. “We are pleased to collaborate with Gentari,” he said. “We aim to develop more mobility solutions and services, and to drive clean and responsible technology for the automotive industry here. I can already envision this partnership shaping Malaysia’s future mobility landscape.”
Earlier this year, Gentari hired Dheeraj Raina as its new chief marketing and strategic communications officer. This came after he left his CEO role at dentsu media. Before dentsu, Raina was with Mindshare for two years.
In February of last year, BMW Group Malaysia engaged Publicis Groupe Malaysia for strategic planning, creative advertising, and digital tasks. The agency focuses on enhancing consumer journeys, elevating brand experiences, crafting sustainability narratives, and building brand relevance.
This partnership between Gentari and BMW Group Malaysia is a significant step towards greener and more sustainable mobility in Malaysia. It offers promising prospects for both companies and for the future of the Malaysian automotive industry.
