The integration was officially announced at a ceremony in Metro Bhawan, attended by DMRC’s Managing Director, Dr Vikas Kumar, Delhi’s Transport Commissioner Ashish Kundra, and other dignitaries. Expanding Horizons: ‘One Delhi App’s’ New Role
Anuj Dayal, Executive Director of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), shared that the ‘One Delhi App’, initially used for generating QR tickets for DTC buses, now extends its functionality to the Delhi Metro. Digital Leap: The Rise of QR Ticketing
DMRC has been at the forefront of digital ticketing, offering QR tickets through various channels like the DMRC Saarthi app, WhatsApp, Paytm, and more. With an impressive 1.2 lakh digital QR tickets sold daily across these platforms, the integration with the ‘One Delhi App’ is expected to further boost convenience and usage. The app itself, previously servicing DTC buses, boasts an average of 1.5 lakh daily ticket sales and an active user base of approximately three lakh.
Seamless Journeys: A Unified Solution
The strategic integration of issuing QR tickets for both the metro and DTC buses through the ‘One Delhi App’ marks a significant enhancement to the ticketing channels. Commuters now have access to a consolidated platform for booking both modes of transport, simplifying their travel experience. The ‘One Delhi App’ goes beyond mere ticketing, incorporating integrated trip planning for buses and metros. Users can seamlessly plan their journeys by entering their start and end points, receiving a comprehensive itinerary that blends both modes of transport without the need to toggle between multiple apps or sources.
This collaboration between the Delhi Metro and the ‘One Delhi App’ is poised to revolutionize commuting in the city. By offering passengers a unified solution for their travel needs, the initiative is set to enhance the efficiency and enjoyment of public transportation in Delhi. As the city moves towards a more integrated and user-friendly transport system, the future of commuting looks promising and more connected than ever.
