Strategic Expansion Amidst New Business Wins
In the wake of securing several prestigious accounts like Cancer Council Victoria, The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, Reece, Green Cross Health, and Catalano Interiors, Bastion Creative fortifies its stronghold in the industry by naming Susan Bird as the Managing Partner for its Melbourne-based Creative practice.
Beefing up National Leadership
Bird’s enlistment isn’t an isolated event. Bastion Creative has been on a spree of notable senior appointments to amplify the national leadership for its Creative division. Other prominent figures joining the firm include Angela Morris as the National Chief Strategy Officer, Simon Langley donning the role of National Group Chief Creative Officer, and Ana Lynch stepping in as Sydney Managing Partner.
Bird’s Illustrious Career: A Deep Dive
Before gracing Bastion with her presence, Susan Bird had an illustrious tenure at AJF. As Client Partner and General Manager for over ten years, she played a pivotal role in sculpting AJF into one of Australia’s mammoth and impactful agencies. Under her leadership, AJF fostered some of its grandest client liaisons, with brands like Officeworks, Specsavers, Bega, Australian National Preventative Health Agency (ANPHA), Bendigo Bank, and Brown Brothers.
Mike Godwin, National Managing Director of Bastion Creative, couldn’t hold back his enthusiasm, “I’ve actually tried to hire Susan, or Sooze as she prefers, multiple times. However, the alignment never happened. It’s a testament to persistence and waiting for the right moment in the quest for top-tier talent. Our paths have finally converged, and it’s the perfect synergy for Sooze and us at Bastion.”

After watching her do this from afar, I’m very excited that we can do it together now! And I know our team and our clients will feel the same.”
