I grew up in PJ New Town which is a small town located in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. PJ New Town is also known as PJ State which came from the name of the first cinema in the area, which is now the Lotus Five Star State Cineplex.
PJ New Town lies within Seksyen 52, Petaling Jaya and is bounded by a part of Jalan Selangor, Jalan Sultan and Jalan Yong Shook Lin. It is home to many local government buildings such as the Menara MBPJ and Bangunan Persekutuan Petaling Jaya as well as many major banks.
It is one of the busiest towns in Petaling Jaya and the traffic can get heavy during peak hours.|
In this video, I will show you the famous Restoran Kam Heong, located on Jalan Tengah, which is a Chinese restaurant famous for its braised duck rice. I will also show you some art murals along PJ Street Art Lane and other places. My favourite has to be the giant owl on the MBPJ Parking Complex wall.
Here’s what PJ New Town looks like at night.
