Yulu, an electric mobility-as-a-service provider, has partnered with Zomato to utilize its DeX electric vehicles for urban delivery. This collaboration marks a major step in speeding up the adoption of eco-friendly intra-city deliveries. Yulu and Zomato have partnered up to provide delivery partners on Zomato’s platform with 25,000 to 35,000 of Yulu’s DeX bikes. These bikes will be available on customised rental plans to facilitate last-mile deliveries.
The purpose-built DeX product, deep delivery ecosystem knowledge, and robust operations combined with Yulu’s extensive network of battery swapping stations can enhance delivery partner earnings by up to 40%, according to Yulu’s Head of Revenue and Operations, Pradeep Puranam. With a rising desire among consumers to reduce their carbon footprint, this collaboration is a win-win for customers, delivery executives, and both companies.

Yulu’s DeX EVs are utilised organically by over 4,000 delivery partners as of February 2023, owing to rising fuel costs and financial constraints that limit many young individuals from joining the delivery sector. By allowing delivery partners access to Yulu’s flexible rental plans and a vast battery swapping station network, the company offers higher earnings than internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.
