Kuala Lumpur, 22 October 2024 – The Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) has taken a significant step forward in recognizing Malaysia’s underwater achievements by welcoming two PADI-certified divers, Head of Research Ms. Siti Hanim and Chief Operating Officer Mr. Jwan Heah, to its team. This move is part of MBR’s broader initiative to enhance the documentation of underwater national records and raise awareness of ocean conservation.
With Malaysia’s growing interest in underwater exploration and record-setting activities, the inclusion of certified divers is essential for ensuring the accurate evaluation and validation of these extraordinary feats. Among the remarkable records recognized by MBR are the Deepest Scuba Dive by Mr. Roihan, the Largest Underwater Cleanup by The Malaysian Submarine Force, and the First Underwater Mailbox by Pos Malaysia.
Elevating Record-Keeping to New Depths
The appointment of these divers will enable MBR to expand its portfolio of underwater records, ensuring that Malaysia’s underwater achievements are documented with precision and care. This includes exciting projects like the First LRT Coach Reef and the First Aeroplane Reef, showcasing the country’s commitment to both innovation and environmental conservation.
“Our certified divers will not only help us expand our underwater record offerings, but we also want to play our role in raising awareness about marine conservation,” said Jwan Heah, COO of MBR. “As we celebrate these records, we also emphasize the importance of protecting our oceans and marine life for future generations.”

The growing number of undersea record applications is a testament to the passion Malaysians have for exploring the depths of their waters, from recreational divers to innovative conservationists. With this initiative, MBR is poised to not only acknowledge these accomplishments but also serve as an advocate for environmental sustainability.
