Singapore’s pioneering edtech accelerator, EduSpaze, has once again raised the bar with the introduction of its ninth cohort. The program, which continues to shape the future of education across Southeast Asia and beyond, has welcomed six cutting-edge startups offering solutions that extend beyond traditional academic boundaries. These startups hail from diverse regions, including Southeast Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and South Asia, and are set to redefine the edtech landscape with their innovative approaches.
EduSpaze’s Commitment to Innovation
“As Singapore’s first edtech accelerator, we are committed to nurturing a vibrant startup ecosystem for the next generation of innovators,” said Alex Ng, Managing Director of EduSpaze. He highlighted the program’s pivotal role in fostering innovation despite the global funding slowdown. “Undeniably, the global edtech scene has collectively evolved since its peak in 2021, where the funding value was estimated at $20.1B in 2021, an astonishing 34% increase from the previous year,” he added. Despite these challenges, EduSpaze remains steadfast in its belief in the potential of edtech and its importance to the ecosystem’s success.
A Fresh Approach to Edtech
With the Southeast Asian edtech scene still in its nascent stages, EduSpaze’s ninth cohort exemplifies a shift towards broader learning solutions. Ng noted, “With the Southeast Asia edtech scene remaining relatively nascent, we’re seeing more edtech startups offering learning solutions outside of traditional K12 and academia. This is where our ninth cohort excels.” The selected startups, including Cards by Cazh, Elggo, eFrontiers, Kidaura, StartUp Early, and Skilledin Green, were chosen for their strong founding teams, innovative solutions, and ambition to scale across the region.

Spotlight on the Startups
One of the standout startups is StartUp Early, a platform designed to enhance the administration of extracurricular activities in educational institutions. Ansar Hamza, CEO of StartUp Early, emphasized the growing importance of holistic student development, stating, “Students are no longer merely expected to focus on excelling in academics, but also excelling outside of the classroom where they develop life-long skills.”
Another notable participant is Skilledin Green, a Singaporean startup focused on upskilling and reskilling job seekers in the sustainability sector. Natasha Syed, CEO of Skilledin Green, remarked, “Learning should occur continuously throughout our lifetime, and our goal at Skilledin Green is to facilitate the journey for talent seeking a career in the sustainability industry.”
EduSpaze: A Legacy of Success
Since its inception by Spaze Ventures in 2019, EduSpaze has established itself as Singapore’s premier edtech accelerator, supported by Enterprise Singapore. The accelerator provides up to S$500,000 in seed funding and offers startups access to a well-established network of schools, universities, mentors, and investors.
