The Australian Podcast Awards (APAs) have officially announced the 2024 shortlist, setting the stage for one of the biggest celebrations in Australia’s podcasting scene. With voting now open for the coveted Listener’s Choice Award, podcast fans across the country have until October 10 to support their favorite shows and influence the outcome of this year’s awards.
The winners will be honored at a grand awards ceremony on November 21, hosted at the prestigious Sofitel Sydney, Darling Harbour. Media personalities Kate Langbroek and Nath Valvo, hosts of the popular iHeart podcast The Buck Up, will bring their unique humor and energy to the night’s proceedings.
Kate Langbroek, reflecting on the upcoming event, said, “We are very excited to host the Logies of podcasts and celebrate everyone. We’ll try our best to stick to the script, but if it’s anything like our podcast, we’re in for a long night. Sorry everybody.”
Celebrating Innovation and Talent in Podcasting
Adam Shepherd, Editorial Lead of the Australian Podcast Awards, remarked on the significance of the event, highlighting Australia’s leadership in the podcasting world. “Australia is not just a participant in the global podcast scene—we’re leading the way with some of the most innovative and compelling content out there. We’re excited to celebrate both the industry’s emerging and prestigious talent and recognise those shaping the future of audio storytelling.”
This year marks the eighth edition of the APAs, which have steadily grown since their inception in 2016. The awards celebrate excellence across 30 categories, including highly anticipated honors like Podcast of the Year and Best New Podcast.
Corey Layton, Head of Digital Audio at ARN’s iHeartPodcast Network Australia, added, “The podcasting landscape in Australia has exploded, with creators delivering bold, diverse, and original content that’s making waves internationally. This year’s awards are a testament to the incredible talent we have across the country.”
